Our next trip will take the IHRG team to Kiev, Ukraine. This currently war-torn country has a long storied history. Part of the former Soviet Union, it is now in the sights of Vladimir Putin to become part of the new Russian Empire. At the same time, the country is working hard to be added to the European Union’s free travel zone. This would help to increase the economic relationship between Ukraine and the rest of Europe. It would make it easier for Europeans to travel there and especially for Ukrainians to travel to countries in the European Union.
We are going to look at how we can begin putting legs to our partnership to help the victims of sex trafficking regain their identities, helping them get passports and local identity documents, helping them with the issues that are created by their illegal immigration to and from countries like Ukraine. Ukraine is a source country, a country where victims are stolen or lured from and then taken to other countries where they are forced into the slave market either in the sex trade or as forced labor.
We are also meeting with pastors from around the world who are coming to Kiev to celebrate with one of the largest churches in Europe. This should be an exciting time of expanding the reach of the IHRG into a number of countries where we have not directly worked before, while helping us shore up the work we are already doing in other countries.
Pray for us! We will not be near the front where the war is happening, but we will be in new territory for us.
We are helping the helpless find justice. We are IHRG!
